Hi, I’m Sophie.

At 18 years old, I set off to South Africa hoping to find something the world could offer that my small hometown couldn’t. Little did I know, that trip would be the beginning of everything. Over the next year, I started traveling the world seeking out new cultures, new perspectives, and a deeper understanding of life beyond what I knew. In South Africa I made friends that became family and I heard a child’s story that changed everything for me. When I first set out, I thought the goal was to see as many countries as possible. But through months of reflection and meaningful moments abroad, I realized it wasn’t just about travel, it was about intentional travel filled with connection and purpose. After returning to South Africa a second time, it all came together. My purpose wasn’t to visit every county. It was to plant roots, to make change, and to give back to the people and place that had given me everything. The place that forever changed my life. For a while I did everything in my power to ignore the calling. I thought, Who am I to start a nonprofit at 19? Can I really make an impact? But then I realized: if no one dares to dream big, nothing ever changes. So here I am committed to building a nonprofit from the ground up. One dedicated to breaking toxic cycles and creating lasting change in the lives of women and children in South Africa.
